After an intense phase of research, development and sampling, we are happy to introduce our BROMLEY ANORAK, closely inspired by the modified WW2 ‘wind proof’ smocks sported by the Bromley Vespa Club members during the 60s and the early 70s, and designed with Club’s collaboration.
The color we selected, a period-correct ‘survival orange’, is a tribute to the color of choice of many B.V.C.’s members.
Our anorak is made out of two layers of tight-woven weatherproof cotton drill, orange outside and khaki brown inside. The jacket is fully reversible, wearable on either side.
As shown in the photos, the orange part is faithful to the original military smock’s design, with four patch pockets, a protective hood and drawstrings at the hood and hem, and the add of a central front zipper as adopted both by military and civilian users of this style (in our case, a military-grade, reversible, Swiss-made Ri-Ri zipper); the inside is brown khaki, very minimal with two vertical Ri-Ri zippers, reminding military, skiing and mountaineering anoraks of the period, with a waist drawstring to regulate the fit.
Two colors, two styles, two jackets in one!
We’ll make the Bromley to order, from size S to XXL (scroll the photos for the relevant measurements of every size).
