Of early-XX Century military inspiration, the MAS 96 coat derives its name from the armed torpedo speedboats used by Italian Navy during WWI and WWII, the Motoscafi Armati Siluranti.
It’s somehow a ‘modular’ coat, equipped with a detachable, buttoned-in cloth lining and a detachable hood held by pression buttons and closed by a gorge patch.
The double regulation belt allows a better adjustment at the waist, while the throat patch and leg straps increase protection from the elements in every circumstance.
Made out of sturdy 500gr/Sm waxed cotton from British Millerain, that has a nice lustre and gains patina with time.
The liner is in a Tartan cotton fabric, anti-pill and anti wax leaks from the outer shell.
Among other distinctive details, the three large vintage buttons on the front with beautifully crafted handsewn buttonholes (the top one is angled, to allow movements without pulling the fabric) and the leather-covered vintage buckles.
Made to order in Italy, to last.
Available to order also the optional Alpaca collar, to add an extra touch of panache (EURO 100)
